What storefront calls usually need
Broken storefront replacement
If the frame held up, the repair is a reglaze: new glass fabricated to your opening's exact measurements and set where the old pane sat. Most storefront aluminum survives whatever broke the glass, and reusing it keeps the job quick.
Tempered safety glass
Glass at sidewalk level should be tempered. It takes a harder hit than ordinary glass, and when it does give way it crumbles into blunt pieces instead of long shards, which matters most right where your customers walk.
Frame repair
A hard enough impact can knock storefront aluminum out of square. We straighten or rebuild the damaged sections so the new glass seats properly, because glass set in a bent frame doesn't stay sealed for long.
Emergency board-up
Plywood measured to the opening and screwed off so the storefront is sealed against weather and foot traffic until the glass comes in. When the replacement arrives, the board comes off without leaving a mess of the frame.
What goes back in the opening
Most storefronts take clear tempered glass, and for a straightforward break that's what we quote. If your window has been hit more than once, ask about laminated glass: its interlayer holds the broken pieces together, so even a cracked panel keeps the building closed up until it's swapped. And if your front runs double-pane insulated units for the energy side, the replacement is built the same way, so the storefront performs like it did before.
We order through commercial fabricators like Oldcastle, Hartung, and General Glass, which is how a one-off storefront pane comes back made to your measurements rather than trimmed down from something close enough.
How the repair runs
If glass is on the ground, the board-up happens first; the full call-to-secured sequence is laid out on our emergency glass repair page. From there the repair moves in order: we measure the opening and write your estimate at the shop, the glass is fabricated to those numbers, and on install day the board comes down, the new pane goes in, and the sealant cures while the shop keeps running.
You'll have the dates up front, so you can tell staff and customers exactly when the front will look normal again.

Can I keep the shop open with a board-up in place?
Usually, yes. The board seals the broken opening, your door keeps working, and shops run normally through the wait for glass all the time. If the broken pane is in the door itself, we'll sort out the safest arrangement while we're there.
Should I do anything before you arrive?
Keep customers and staff away from the opening, and photograph everything just as you found it, because your insurance company will want those pictures. Leave the glass where it is; dealing with broken tempered is part of what we come prepared for.
What happens if it breaks at night?
Call when you find it, whatever the clock says. The emergency line runs nights and weekends, and the board-up gets handled before the question of replacement glass even comes up.
How do you match what was in the frame?
We measure the thickness and type of the old glass along with the opening itself, note any tint or coating, and order the replacement to match. The goal is a front that looks the way it did before anything happened.
What changes the quote?
Size and glass type set most of it. A small pane in a door is a lighter job than a full display window, laminated runs above standard tempered, and frame damage adds work that plain reglazing doesn't need. Measuring is free and the number comes in writing.
Do you handle the insurance paperwork?
We give you what your claim needs from our side, a written estimate and a clear scope of work, and you or your agent take it from there. Your photos of the damage round out the file from your end.
